This book accompanied the event ‘Alice Rohrwacher, Rêver entre les mondes’, presented from 1 December 2023 to 1 January 2024 at the Centre Pompidou, comprising a complete retrospective of her films and the exhibition ‘Bar Luna’, designed by the filmmaker with the Muta Imago company and the participation of florist Thierry Boutemy.

Alice Rohrwacher tells the story of the making of her first four feature films, Corpo celeste, Les meravigle, Lazarro Felice and La Chimera.

From writing to editing, all the stages are evoked through sequences that crystallise the many issues at stake.

What emerges from this discussion is the filmmaker's search for immaterial truths through fiction, the access it affords to the supplements of being and the world - such as individual dreams and the collectively shared tales, myths and folk songs that Alice Rohrwacher is just as fond of; but also the constant back-and-forth between life and the films that form the basis of her practice, her attachment to the craft of cinema and its forms, and the importance of the troupe as a family.
