History can be imagined not to have happened, whether as a dream or a nightmare, and these uchronies can teach us a great deal, both about History as it was and about our way of looking at it, our preconceptions, our fears and our desires. Various forms of uchrony were the focus of the study day on 7 December 2013 at the Château de La Roche-Guyon, from the origins of the genre to its translation into the field of video games. This volume brings together some of the contributions presented at the event, as well as other studies and fictions relating to this specific and protean genre.
